Terms of use

Last changed: 2026-10-11. These terms are short on purpose. By using omega-share you agree to them.

Who runs this

omega-share is a free, non-commercial project with no ads and no payments. Who runs it, and how to reach them, is on the Contact & notices page. It is offered as is.

What omega-share does

You make a room, others join it, and you watch a video together in sync, as avatars, with a live chat. The browser extension finds a video on the page you are on and shares it into your room. We don't host videos: they play in the provider's own player (YouTube, Twitch or Vimeo) under that provider's terms, and any other shared page loads only when you click it.

House rules

Don't use omega-share, in a room, its title, its chat or the video you share, for any of these:

You can report any of these with the "Report room" dialog in the room; use "Something else" for the ones without their own reason.

How we moderate

People report rooms. A person at omega-share reads the reports at least once a day and decides each one. There is no automated moderation, except a blocklist of words that keeps a room with a matching title out of the public room list and stops new rooms being made with it.

We may take rooms down, at our discretion, when they break these rules or the law. A takedown ends the room for good: everyone in it is sent out, and its address never works again. A room's owner can also remove people from their room and mute them. There are no accounts, so we don't ban or suspend people.

Reporting

"Report room" in any room sends an anonymous report: it's quick, but we can't reply to it. To report illegal content and get an answer, send a notice as described on the Contact & notices page.

Complaints about our decisions

If you think we got a decision wrong, whether we took your room down or left a reported room up, write to us through the Contact & notices page. A person reads every complaint and answers it.

Age

You must be 16 or older to use omega-share.

No warranty

omega-share is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind: it may be down, lose rooms or change at any time. To the extent the law allows, the people who run it aren't liable for any loss from using it. Nothing here limits rights that the law of your country doesn't let us limit.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms in a way that matters, we put a notice on the site. The date at the top is the current version's.
